Philosophy of Perinatal Education
The birth of a child is a milestone in your family's life. As perinatal educators, we believe that birth is normal, natural and healthy. Our goal is to empower women through education to make informed choices and gain trust in her inner wisdom. This, along with a strong support system, will increase a woman's confidence in her ability to give birth.

Lamaze Four-Week Series
This is an informative, personal, and interactive four-week course preparing women and their families for childbirth. Topics include: relaxation, breathing techniques, massage, labor and birthing positions, and information on labor and birth. Total time is 12 hours of instruction. A tour of Family Birthing Suites is included with this class.

Breastfeeding Basics
While breastfeeding is a natural, healthy way to feed a baby, new mothers often need guidance and support. The "how-tos" of breastfeeding, common myths and prevention of problems are some of the topics covered by Board Certified Lactation Consultants in this one-evening class. Moms who are unsure if they want to breastfeed are also encouraged to take this class so that when the time is right, you can make an informed decision. Dads-to-be encouraged to attend!

Breastfeeding Support
This informal group allows mothers who breastfeed and mothers-to-be an opportunity to meet with other mothers with the same philosophy of infant nutrition. An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is present for any questions and concerns. Please call 570.340.2334 to register.

Infant and Child CPR
This one-evening class is designed to teach those responsible for infant and child care about infant/child safety issues and CPR. Class size and equipment are limited.

Sibling Class
This fun and interactive one-evening class will provide a special way to introduce a new baby into your family. Sibling class promotes family bonding and decreases your child's anxiety. The big brother/sister will leave happy and confident in this new role. A tour of the Family Birthing Suites will be completed at the conclusion of class. For children ages 3yr - 10yr.

Education Videos/DVDs
For those who are unable to attend classes due to work or medical reasons, we offer video/DVD rental. Our videos/DVDs compile all topics of the Lamaze classes with a "practice on your own" component. A credit card must be used as a deposit for the video set.

Scheduling a Class?
The ideal time to finish childbirth classes is between your 35th and 38th weeks of pregnancy. You should plan to schedule your classes early to ensure availability. Ask to be put on a waiting list if a class you are interested in is full.
Refund Policy
Space in our classes is limited! Refunds will be issued only in cases of medical necessity. The participant must notify us in advance and provide proper documentation from a physician.
Class Cancellation
Any class may be cancelled a week in advance, if fewer than four couples are signed up. Inclement weather? Call 770-5985 to check for cancellations or rescheduled classes.
Tours
A tour of the Family Birthing Suites is included with the Lamaze and Sibling classes. You can also schedule a tour if you are not enrolled in a class by calling 770-5985.

Payment
Payment MUST be received at least two weeks prior to the start of your first class in order to guarantee your reservation. Participants are responsible for checking with their insurance company concerning coverage for classes.
Payments must be made by credit card, check, money order or cash. If you are paying with cash, please bring the exact amount owed for your classes.
